Here are some of the pictures I took of Brentwood. I posted about 1/3 of the pictures, but I feel it gives a pretty good over all view. I hope this entry isn't too large and takes a long time loading up. Hope you enjoy looking at them. I think you will be encouraged about the future of Brentwood when you view the pictures. We have a lot of work to do, but we can see hope in the future. Everybody wants to go up and help, but the forest is not open for the general public. We are waiting for a representive from church head quarters to assess our loss. The guy who is coming is a tree expert and he will mark the trees
The 1st picture is at the Brentwood sign on Forest Road 25J. Dosen't look too bad from this view.
This is looking from 25J toward the Brentwood gate. You can see the blue tart at Camp host camp.
Camp Host's (Rick & Barbie Marble) trailor and refrigerators, note tree on left, fire from the trailer was so hot it burnt through the bark, it'll have to come down. Samething happen by my trailer.
Rick looking at his patio' burnt canvas top, ATV, chairs, etc., but the popup canopy in back is ok.
This the storage unit at the upper camp area, not harmed, but the ground around it burnt & burnt a hole in the tire of the trailer parked next to it.
This was a Animas Ward's large tent, note black ground between here camp host camp site.
The road going by the upper showers going to the pavilion area. It burnt up to the road but didn't cross.
The US Forest just south of the upper showers, the ground is burnt badly, the top of the trees are still green.
Looking down the meadow, on the left is the pavilion and lower showers area, no burn in that area.
Looking straight down the meadow, note the few burnt trees on the left, ground is black under those trees.
Upper showers and upper camp area, note black under all the trees & what's left of another tent in the upper camp ground.
Upper showers, fire burned all around the building, no damage, but they did smell of smoke pretty bad.
The water well cap rock covering pipes, note the black is shadows, no burning in the pavilion area.
The pavilion & lower showers, the is shadows no burning in this area
The meadow side of pavilion, even some green, no burn here. It looked great.
There are 2 tents between the lower showers & pavilion, no burning in this area.
This is the US Forest area across road west of pavilion, this is where Cindi & Rob & other camp, all the ground is black, but the tops of the trees are still green.
The 1st. of the lower storage units, tanks were empty, fire got under the floor & went up into unit. The heat cause the unit to bulge, but came back.
Inside 1st. burnt storage unit, it appears all the chairs, tables, carbage cans, hoses, toilet paper, etc. are destroyed.
The 2nd units, new free standing fire box, canoes, YW's equipment, etc. etc., all destroyed.
Looking at the meadow behind storage units, note the black ground & scorched trees. Across the meadow note the burnt ground under trees and some burnt trees.
Looking south at the trailer hookup area, 3 of 5 tents burned here, 2 may be scorched, ground is burnt.
Why the forest is so dangeous after a fire, fire burns lower inside of tree, but falls sometimes later, unexpectedly. Forest ranger told us that's how they lose fire fighters sometimes. We can't start clean up until these trees have identified and cut down.

Brentwood Fire
I promised to put some pictures of fire damage in Brentwood up on the blog but I'm not sure that I still know how. But I'll try a couple to night and put more on another time.

Hows this for a couple of pictures. Look behind the trailer and you can see the burnt area. It's late and I need to go to bed early this week. Now that I have been successful, I think I can do it now. Love Ya, Dad
