Just wanted to let you all know that Tanna made the chamber orchestra at Mesa High for next year! This is the top orchestra in the school and quite an honor for a Junior!! She is also thinking of teaching beginning students violin next year!
We think Drew broke his clavicle this week. On Monday afternoon he was swinging and tried to do a back flip off the swing and landed wrong - while holding onto the chains. It kind of jerked his shoulder wrong and he was sore. Scott determined that is was a rotator cuff injury and we iced it and told him to rest it. It was starting to feel better but fast-forward to today. Drew is playing dodge ball in PE (and tell me why he thinks that dodge ball is "taking it easy"?!?!) and he and another kid were running for the same ball and crashed into each other. He heard a pop and can't move his shoulder without major pain. :( He has an appointment Friday am with his regular MD and Monday am with an orthopedic. Poor kid.

Mesa High Presents Susical
Mesa High School's musical this year was Susical - a compilation of Dr. Sues stories including Cat in the Hat - Horton Hears a Hoo - Horton Sits on an egg - and the things you can do. The performance was last week (Apr 15 - 18)Tanna played in the pit orchestra as one of the violins and did a tremendous job! The pit orchestra played for almost the entire musical - I was so impressed with their professionalism - they sounded great!
Wish you could have been there to see the wonderful singing, acting, and musicians from Mesa High - our family loved it!

The Gynaecologist Who Wanted to be a Mechanic!
A gynaecologist had become fed up with malpractice
insurance and HMO paperwork and was burned out.
Hoping to try another career where skilful hands would be
beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic.
He went to the local technical college, signed up for
evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could.
When the time for the practical exam approached, the
gynaecologist prepared carefully for weeks and completed the
exam with tremendous skill.
When the results came back, he was surprised to find that
he had obtained a score of 150%.
Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying, "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade." The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. "You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark." After a pause, the instructor added, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I've never seen done in my entire career."
