I have a story to share.  Yesterday I was sitting in my recliner with it faced away from the kitchen.  I was listening to Wyatt but I should have looked.  Well he calls my name and asks for me to look.  I turn around and he is on a bar stool getting into the cupboard holding a large bottle of cinnamon.  He tells me "Mom I need to put this out of me reach." I almost died laughing.  I did find later a little pile of cinnamon on the counter.  All I can assume is that he was punishing himself for getting into something he knew he shouldn't or it didn't taste to good and he needed to get it out of his reach so he wouldn't be temped to taste it again.  I have no idea but it is also funny that he said that cause there isn't a place in our house that is actually out of his reach with the use of his faithful bar stool.

That is my funny antidote for the day, week, month, or year depending on my kids.

History!

History has always been difficult for me to retain I have tried to understand but more than dates and names, I remember feelings about what has happened in the past. I have always had a disdain for racism and prejudice and I am just in tears watching the joy so many people are having in this presidential transition. I have loved looking at different scenes from past presidencies and historical events that have lead up to this day.

How wonderful for our country, aside from any philosophical differences we may have, our country has elected an African American man. Many people have fought for, suffered greatly, and endured awful and unjust treatment over the years just like the early Saints, German Jews, and countless peoples around the world throughout the centuries. This is a historical day in our country! I am truly happy and very touched.

I wish I could sit in front of the TV all day long! Unfortunately I have to go to Safford. A friend of mine said she would tevo it so we can sit and watch and cry together! LOL

Wyatt silly face

NOT 2 weeks

As it turns out their is a 100 day rule, the papers can not be turned in before 100 days before the availability date for the future missionary. So Josh will get his call mid February. Didn't I say something about it being yet ANOTHER month?

The Alpha and Omega in reverse order!

Sunday morning I decided to take pictures of my children. When I called Bryant out I think he figured we were doing a photo shoot for GQ magazine! LOL He posed one picture after another, I didn't ask for such poses, but couldn't stop taking pictures. Trying hard not to laugh so he wouldn't quit! He is very serous about his work.

Josh had an interview with the Stake president before church Sunday morning. When I got to church he patted my leg and said 2 weeks (meaning he would have his call in 2 weeks) , to which I immediately responded with tears, and then denial, No I am sure they will get busy, and forget and it won't happen for another month.... He smiled and put his arm around me. They presented him in Sacrament meeting to be approved to receive the Melchizedek priesthood and be ordained to the office of an Elder. Although it was a proud moment for me, I had such a profound feeling that he was where he was because of the choices HE has made, NOT because of some heroic mother thing I had done. I was very proud of HIM, and grateful to my Heavenly Father! Josh was ordained after church, and I only wish I had the presence of mind to make sure the aunts and uncles and other relations knew they were welcome to come in! Not until after it was done and I saw Danny and Bert and Janice and Grant did I think about it. We were sure to have Josh call and invite his grandparents, but that was as far as it went. Perhaps we will get better with time?

Josh got a call from the Bishop last night. He was working on sending on the mission papers to the Stake President who assured us that he would send them off Sunday evening...and the photo Josh submitted looked bad when the computer program changed the size format and digitized it. So the Bishop asked Josh for another photo...to which I was grateful. I didn't like the picture either...hummm it looked like he took it of himself, because he did! LOL

So now we were doing a photo session with Josh, who like most of us, feels uncomfortable with a camera up in his face, I now realized I could have used the zoom feature and backed up, poor boy! So here is what a Bryant photo shoot will look like in 15 years! LOL

This was not to show off his beautiful hair cut...but a protest!
Humm...where do you think they will send him?
I am thinking this looks like a Jim Cary impersonation...I really don't like Jim Cary.OK, much better....but he looks too young to go on a mission. He won't leave until May, do you think he'll look older by then? He will be 19 in a month, there WAS a time in my life when I thought 19 was old, at least, old enough.

One last photo....it snowed in Duncan last night!

We Survived the Holidays

Hello, Family! It has been awhile, but I thought I'd do a quick entry to let you know we are alive and well (and very cold today). Right now, at almost 6:00 p.m. my outside thermometer says 16 degrees.

Yesterday we went to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple to the wedding of PJ Nay and Rachel Perkins. They met at BYU-Idaho and she is from Alpine. And yes, he now has a wife Rachel and a sister Rachel. We went to the wedding and the lunch and it was a very nice day. We didn't go back down yesterday evening for the reception. Too old and tired, I guess. M'Kay was there and says they are all doing well and are busy with all the activities of children. Raymond and Myrna were able to drive up so it was nice to see them. Afton and Gordon weren't able to be there because Afton just had some surgery on a bone spur in her foot and wasn't too mobile. It was nice to see Bruce and Karen, too. Karen is being seriously ravaged by her disease and you wouldn't know her. It breaks my heart. They are very happy to be in Idaho now. I wish I could attach a picture, but alas, I neglected to take my camera.

We did have Sarah and her family here during the holidays. Anna reminds me so much of Sarah....a very bright, talkative little thing who picks up on everything around her. Mariah is much more into things than Anna was, so they have their hands full. She had a bad head cold and so in her illness she was terrible clingy to her mother. She didn't like anyone else. If you even looked like you might pick her up she would start chanting, "Mamm, Mamm, Mamm."

I start back to school tomorrow and Nate starts back in another week. Neither of us are looking forward to that! :) This was a good weekend to be a Ute! Go, Utes!

Enjoy looking at my two little darlings!

Eeeewwww!!! Snow so deep

Many of you are looking at that neat pile of snow wishing you were playing in it. Those of you who live in it are playing it and we'll just let you send pictures and we'll just look. It looks so pretty but oh so cold. It is rainy here today and I've let the dogs in to get out of the wet weather. They appreciate it I think. I'll stick with this being the coldest part of our winter. It may get a little worse in January and February, but no too much I hope. I just can't handle that cold and neither of us like to drive in the snow so we'll let the rest of you enjoy it. Happy end of the Holiday season. Hope it was enjoyable for everyone. Love all of you.
