Merry, Merry Christmas

Hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas. We are sitting quietly at home just enjoying the rainy day with the dogs inside visiting us and have a Christmas rawhide. Leonard seemed extra loving this Christmas morning for some reason - very cute. The old lady sleeps and miss raccoon seems to be into things today more than usual. Maybe she is looking for something for Christmas. We didn't give them a bone or anything. She usually isn't into treats either.
Off for a midmorning Christmas nap for now.

Yipppee - pictures of the fun we missed out on

Oh, look at everyone on horses. I am not even sure I could climb up on one anymore but it sure looks like you guys had a good time at Grandad's with the horses. And what a crew on the stairs and front entry hall at Grandma and Grandad's. Thanks for posting the pics.

Just for fun!

On the Leonard Blog we have started a tradition of calling the call before the call, for any missionary who is submitting their papers. So if you would like to join in on the guessing game there is a list of 335 missions to choose from on http://www.lightplanet.com/mormons/daily/missionary/lds_missions.html

It used to be that I would imagine the far out, far away countries that would make you eat strange food and make you live in a way most foreign to your normal life. But the closer this time comes for this mom.... I am thinking that the states that surround mine are far enough away :) So my guesses are: New Mexico, Albuquerque . Colorado, Denver . Utah, Provo . Nevada, Las Vegas West . (I am moving north of California because they are hostile right now) Oregon, Eugene.

Derek guesses Germany if he takes the whole country it could be German-Austrian, German Central, German Democratic, Republic Dresdan, Germany Berlin, Germany Dresden, Germany Dusseldorf, Germany Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, North, South, and West missions!

Bryant pointed to Guatemala, Guatemala . Finland, Helsinki . Colombia Bogota North . California, Central (so much for me not picking California!) . Japan, Kobe.

I'll have to poll the rest of my children. If anyone guesses correctly I'll buy them a candy bar!

Love,
Becky

Can I just share this one?

I just love this picture of Harvey and Wyatt!

Thanks Giving at Grandma and Grandad's house

Wyatt is READY TO EAT!!!
After dinner the kids enjoyed a movie, well Josh enjoyed texting while being in the presence of those who were watching a movie!

More movie watchers.

Trinity rode horses.

Kendall and Harvey picking over the leftovers, and the picture frame (Dad calls is the Harry Potter picture frame) is on the lower right hand side.

Here are ALL the grand kids (except for Jayce). My how the family has grown. I am hoping Jennie Lou's home has recovered. We are very sorry about the pheasant casualty. I asked Kinsley what happened and she said she and Logan were just petting it because it was so soft, and its tail just fell off, she didn't know HOW it happened:(

Thank you Dad and Jennie Lou for hosting, it was wonderful! We missed you Rob and Cindi!

Waiting to see pic from everyone else's Thanksgiving

We however forgot our camera so our trip to California this year is pictureless. Rob's Dad took a few that he is going to send to us though. Maybe this is why we never have pictures for the Rapier book or picture frame projects. We just forget our camera.
We started out last Monday - the 24th and drove more than half way and stopped for the night in Bakersfield. We then continued on North into Yuba City on Tuesday, stopping at this cool Cheese Factory - Bravo Farms, and then arrived at his mom's and visited for a while at Rob's mom's house (his Dad came over as well) before going to our hotel. Then Wednesday we went back over to Rob's mom's and we watched her and helped her clean up from baking a cranberry upside down cake and a pie crust for a lemon meringue pie. (Gayle had asked me what kind of pie would make it Thanksgiving for me - lemon meringue). We then went shopping at the grocery store for some lemons to do the lemon meringue pie. Then we went to "Gottschalk", a major department store in CA and his mom bought me some shoes and Rob some shirts. She likes to spoil us. We stopped for a little afternoon snack and then went home to make the pie. We were invited to Rob's dad's for dinner that night and so after baking, we all headed over to Tim's house for a spaghetti dinner. We enjoyed good food and good company. We again went back to the hotel and returned the next - well around noon, not morning at all, and helped with Thanksgiving day preparation of food. Rob's dad came over again and he, Rob's mom, his step-dad Ralph, Rob and I ate our Thanksgiving dinner about 2:30. After that, things were cleaned up and we went to see the 4:30 showing of "Twilight" (except Ralph - he stayed behind to watch football).
Jamie had brought me the books to read but I had not gotten to them yet but we really enjoyed the movie. It was very different. Now I'll want to read the books more now thought after seeing the movie. After the movie, we went back to the house and visited some more. We were planning on leaving Friday but his mom talked us into staying one more night in Sacramento so we could visit with Rob's cousin Brooke and her husband Matt and their son Spencer. So, Friday, we went into Sacramento, went to Barnes and Noble and bought some books on tape for our return trip home (we had bought some for the trip out), and then we went for and afternoon snack and on over to Brooke's house. Gayle and Ralph ended up going home, back to Yuba City pretty early but we visited pretty late at Brooke and Matt's house. We really enjoyed visiting with them. Then we got up and headed out Saturday and made it to Barstow, then we continued on home on Sunday, getting to our house about 5pm - just in time for doggie and kitty dinners to be served. We were happy to be home after a really good trip.
Now, I hope somebody had pictures to post from the Thanksgiving we missed in Safford. We really did miss everyone. It was really quiet with only 5 adults. We hear everyone had a good time. Hope we get to see you all during the Christmas holidays.
