An Inspirational Thought
I believe that the Spirit of the Holy Ghost is the greatest guarantor of inward peace in our unstable world. It can be more mind-expanding and can make us have a better sense of well-being than any chemical or other earthly substance. It will calm nerves; it will breathe peace to our souls. This Comforter can be with us as we seek to improve. It can function as a source of revelation to warn us of impending danger and also help keep us from making mistakes. It can enhance our natural senses so that we can see more clearly, hear more keenly, and remember what we should remember. It is a way of maximizing our happiness.

A "pickle" perfect day!

Last week a friend of mine asked if I would make pickles with her. I have been on a bit of a quest to recreate a flavor memory from my childhood, and had recently talked to my mom about the recipe she used those many years ago. The only thing we could remember was dill, garlic, and a grape leaf. I consented to do the pickles with my friend. We started at noon and I finished the last of the processing a little after 10 pm! It was a very long day, but of course I was pleased with the results. In the end I had 50 quart jars to split between my friend and I. You can see in the picture there is a grape leaf in the jars! The pickles are WONDERFUL! Perhaps even better than I remembered.
She is ready to the next project...I feel like I haven't recovered yet! LOL I wish I had her energy and enthusiasm.

Love you all, sorry for sharing these, but i thought since a lot of you knew my friends, it might be fun to see their families.

Oh I forgot Stephanie
Funny thing is that steph's little girl Felicity was the first-born of the twins. She's the "mexican" one.
you'll have to zoom in on audra's and steph's pics, they're a little hard to see.

If any of you are curious about how she is doing?
Roxy has a blog, and has pictures of her family on it. I was shocked at how much her little girl Lilly looks like her. And even more shocked about how her family has changed over time. It was quite a challange deciphering who was her mom, whitney, and Sydney ( the baby). Weird!!! Audra and Camilee have the same shocking families and little girls that look just like them. Guess I'm not the only one. Maybe it was something in the water that linked all of our genes and our first-born girls to be cookieo-cutters of us. I'll try to post them, or at least give a web-site link.
Roxy is a Blogger now and is pressuring me to start one.
Cindi can you send Roxy (Redd) Long an invite to our blog? her e-mail address is roxy1130@hotmail.com

Congratulations Tristen on both your driving test and your Community College test. I am so very proud of you. And congrats to all of the Derek and Becky Rapier family for getting a cast off, getting a new truck, getting of meds maybe, starting school, starting junior high, starting high school, starting college, starting an exercise routine, getting to be the only one left at home and what else have I missed?
Well, after a visit to my doctor's office Mondya, I just scheduled a sleep study for next week. The insurance has decided they are not going to approve my medicine that helps me stay awake during the day, so I am out of medicine right now and groggy all day long and have to have a new sleep study done. And, none too soon. The doctor asked me if I ever have episodes of waking up not being able to breathe and I told him no. But, last night I was brutally reminded that I do have that happen. I woke up choking and gasping for air and it took forever to feel like I could breath normal again and it ended up making me sick and I threw up and was quite ill for a few hours. It was rather scary and I realized I have had this happen to me before - luckily not frequenly, but it is something I'd like to get checked out. I did have sleep sleep test done years ago and had sleep apnea and they said it just may have gotten worse. They couldn't do anything - except my psychiatrist prescribed the stay awake medicine because I am so tired during the day without it - but the insurance had sent out a C-Pap machine at first but then ended up taking it back because I didn't qualify for it - I only stopped breathing in my sleep 9 times an hour and I would have had to stop breathing 15 times an hour to qualify for the machine. Crazy insurance. So, I go next Thursday to be hooked up to all sorts of crazy wires and then try to sleep with them all on and stay through the day for a day time sleep study.
It is good to be able to hear about everyone's adventures - can't wait to see Dad's pictures and hear more about his trip. I am talking to him on the phone right now and they are in Montana, headed for Billings. They already hit Bismark and saw the lowline cattle and he got to hold a little calf and taste some Fillet Mignon from the lowline. They took quite a few pictures and will try to get Josh to help them post them when they get back.
So, how is everyone else's school year shaping up?
Love ya all.

Hooray!!! Tristen passed her entrance exam to Coconino community college. They offer a nursing class to people in high school(free of charge). After completion she will be a CNA(certified nursing assistant). This will be a great start into nursing.
We were very worried about her taking the test. Tristen doesn't like taking tests.
Anyway Shauna and I are proud of her. I think she will make a stellar Nurse.

What we've been up to
Seems like I have dropped out of cyber space for a time...real time and real life has demanded my time and attention. Our summer was full to the brim with fun, and business, and someone squeezing our pocketbook till the last pennies fell out! Josh's car had major problems before he returned home from working in NYC, and we realized that we would need another "working" vehicle to do the running that the High School schedule requires. So we traded our big money sucking truck (that never worked like it should) in for a smaller more fuel efficient truck (that works!) that Kendall drives to school. We spent a week in Tucson for our annual summer conference. I didn't get to Grandma Great's like I had hoped and I am sorry for that! We did get our school shopping done, lots of swimming, and a vehicle shopped for, OH and Hunters cast off! We were in a different part of town than we usually are, and I was asleep when we drove in, so I spent the first half of the week not understanding where we were. We had 3 rooms! I thought that perhaps we were something special, until I heard that the Graham Co Attorney also had the 3 rooms...I think it was what those with 4 or more kids got! Hunter said that he could get used to this! I told him NOT to unless he worked hard for a good education! LOLWe are back in school. Tayler and Kendall had endo appointments last Thursday. The dr said that if Taylers blood work comes back normal he will take her off her meds and hope for a remission. Kendall has 3 more months before he will try it with him. So keep them in your prayers.Derek and I are trying to live healthier don't faint....but I have been getting up at a quarter till 5 to be to a fitness center at 5 on M, W, F and on the off days we have been walking. I do feel like I am more awake and I am gaining some strength that I felt was wasting away. I need to improve our diet...but one step at a time! LOLSchool is back in, even Josh goes to school today! I have a newbee at every level, a Kinder, a 7th grader, a 9th grader, and a frosh in college. Bryant and I are home buddies!Hope things are well where you are.Love,Becky

Partly recoveded from flood.
Kim,
Enjoyed your entry.
I went to Duncan and with Kendall's help clean a lot of mud off the patio, carport and side walk,(Mostly it was dried mud). WE brought down the DR Grader from Derek's and was able to smooth out the ruts int the driveway. There is still a lot of wet mud in the fields, barn yard and other places. When I look at my neigbors, I am agained greatful that I only received water and mud everwhere but the buildings.
It's 12:45 AM on August 1. I got home late so I'm up late because I was so dirty from to day, that I took a bath before going to bed and of couse it wakes me up. But I'm getting sleep now. The big DHS All School Reunion starts today, we hope it is a lot of fun. See the ones of you that make there.
Dad.
